The MHA is a non-profit organization that provides free services. Funds are received through individual contributions, fundraising events, membership dues, bequests and memorials, United Way, District 12 business grants and allocations, and Dept. of Children and Families. The Mental Health Association affiliates directly with the National Mental Health Associations, Inc. The association contributes to research for the "mentally ill" through its NARSAD participation.
